A Trip Downtown

The bed in the coach is more comfortable than our bed at home and as Tom, an old motorcycle riding friend used to say, "Nobody had to sing me a lullaby last night". Suzanne's an earlier riser than I am and by the time I got up she was already at work on her laptop. I took Travis to the dog park and we played fetch for a while then returned to the coach for some breakfast - Science Diet Large Breed kibble for him, oatmeal for me. Suzanne wasn't hungry.

We have a washer and dryer in the coach...

The dryer is pretty straight forward but operation of the washer has always been a bit of a mystery to us as the controls aren't as intuitive as they could be. We've just kind of left the dials in the position they were in when we took delivery of the coach and the clothes always come out clean so...if it ain't broke...

This morning, before starting a load I decided it was time to master the operation of this piece of machinery so I downloaded the manual. Operating instructions are somewhere in the library of manuals that came with the coach but I didn't feel like digging through pile of binders to find them.
Long story short, I am now an expert in the operation of the Ariston ARXL 129 W SP.

Suzanne knocked off early in the afternoon and we went to Walmart to do some shopping. As we left the RV park we saw the sky was practically black with birds. This isn't an agricultural area so I don't know why they're here or what they're looking for - nor do I know what kind of birds they are. Here are some of them hanging out on the power lines...

When we got back home I took care of a couple maintenance issues in the coach then we drove downtown to check out the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar.
The ACB is a huge arts and crafts exposition held at the Palmer Events Center in Austin. There's also a stage and musical performances throughout the day.  I snagged a couple of seats for the next performance, 'Uncle Lucius'  (from what I read, a popular Texas band) but they were late to start, we were hungry and Suzanne had finished her Christmas shopping so we walked back to the car and headed in the direction of the RV park... with an eye out for a place to eat.
As we wound our way out of town along the Colorado River we spotted this place...

Judging from the number of cars in the parking lot we figured the food must be okay. We both ordered the crab cake dinner and it was delicious.  The crab-stuffed mushroom caps appetizer and  generously sized entrees left us full and in need of a box. Crab cakes for lunch tomorrow.

View of downtown from the Joe's patio...

We arrived back at the coach around 9 pm, watched a little tv and turned in for the night. We have only about 80 miles to travel tomorrow to reach San Antonio where Aaron will join us Sunday.
Oh, we decided our Christmas tree looked a little under decorated so we bought a string of Santa lights at Walmart...

... I think they did the trick.

Thanks for checking out the blog.
